Boxing Day camp.

Postby Donnelly69 on Tue Dec 27, 2011 8:14 pm

This was our view this morning, (Borrowdale, looking south) after a very warm but windy night. Awoke to a very calm morning, not a breath of wind :D :D followed by a bacon butty before hitting the sales in Keswick. :D :D

Hilleberg Nammatj 3GT, Terra Nova Quasar, Cabanon Andorra & Calais, Outwell Trout Lake, Hi-Gear Ion 3 and hopefully a Field Candy 'Get a Room' coming soon!

Very nice.

Any bargains in the shops? I bought another microfibre towel today for £4.57 from Decathlon.

There was a few, though quite disappointed with George Fishers, not much in their sale. Got some bits and pieces, but the best offers were probably in Blacks, some of the tents were at cracking prices. I think the company is in trouble though.........?

2 more nights in a proper bed & I will be off for 3 nights myself!

OK so I'm cheating & using my tin tent, but it's still a form of camping, just with hot running water (well, hopefully. My water heater has sprung a leak & needs a new O ring, so I've got that to sort out).
4 Canvas tents (various sizes)
3 Plastic tents (various sizes)
& 1 Tin tent (yes, I'm a turn-coat, but it has a canvas awning)

My other passion;
My 1983 BMW 525e

I went to bed at 11.00pm and it was still 10degC! :shock:

Woke up at 3.30am absolutely roasting, had to climb out of my fleece liner and went back to sleep with the bag half unzipped. :D

It was only a quick one-nighter with a couple of lake-side walks and a bit of retail therapy and a couple of local ales chucked in, but it was worth it.

Now to decide on new year's eve........... we've an invite to Glasgow, with a camp in the hosts garden or a try our luck up near the borders - this was last years camp on the lawn of a hotel, oh decisions decisions..... :? :?
