If your looking at the lakes Buttermere has a lovely little farm campsite. Sykes Farm, you cross over a little footbridge with all your gear, it's quite basic. Been going there years and the walking is great. There's a couple of pubs to have a meal and a few drinks in too, always welcome if the weathers not too good. :)

We're always with the kids when camping. Relaxed sites that are normally a little wilder, and campfires almost a must have. Places like Shell Island we'll just stay on site; otherwise we take the kids to local attractions, up the hills, on the water, or at the beach.
These are great places for families and so are the sites we list on Get out with the kids.

We're still researching sites for next year's camping, and have found some great places. Also planning on taken the older kids wild camping, combining a long hike or bike ride.
May also go to France.

It may be a bit breezy outside, but doesn't stop us planning
