Back from our first camping experience

Well the weatherman got it wrong, sunshine and 22 degrees my foot, try blowing a gail, raining oh and the odd glimpse of sun. Still really enjoyed ourselves though.

Got to the site and as soon as we drove through the gates it started raining, got the tent up in an hour (first time we'd ever set it up  ) and then the sun came out. 3 yo found another youngster to play with so that was her occupied whilst I rustled up a spag bol. Quite windy that night and then sunday was very windy and on and off rain. Went for some walks and had fish and chips. That night OMG how we didn't take off I don't know, others the next morning were saying how they were holding onto their poles for dear life. But even so we all still loved it but had to take the tent down in pouring rain, but hubby and I worked well as a team and no arguements.

Tent was fab and so warm hubby went to bed in his boxers! Quite a few people came up to us and said they really liked our tent and it was huge. One teenager came up to us in the park and said are you the people in the posh tent with carpet! We really wanted that carpet and got a good price on it as I didn't want the kids crawling round on a cold floor. All in all campers are very friendly people I found, makes a nice change :D

All in all a fab time and can't wait to go again, but think we'll stock up on our equipment and go next year now.

Great photo's Vickie, your tent looks lush! Which one is it?

Well done on a successful (if hairy) trip, a bit of wind always adds an extra element of excitement doesn't it? :bigwink:

Did the carpet make a big difference? I've never bothered in the past but as our new tent has a SIG I thought I'd better get one, not had chance to use it yet though. :(

Where was the site you went to?

Hiya,

We stayed at Greenways Leisure Park in Oxwich in the Gower. Quite expensive as not much there (Fiver for fish and chips!) was a lovely site though.

The tent is the Winnipeg 6 by Royal and I found the carpet very good as it made the floor less cold and better for the kids to crawl round on.

Sorry so short, am in work

Glad you had a good time and you love the tent. The carpets are great aren't they, especially with young ones.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...
