South England camping site with sea views

Postby cowiebullie on Wed Sep 01, 2010 7:34 pm

Hi all,

I am new to the forum but not to camping.

I would like your recommendations on camping sites with sea views around the south coast of England.

We are not interested in themed camping sites only a basic location where there are showers WC... really the basics.

We will be camping with a tent and would like to find a location where we can watch the sea waves breaking on the shore from our tent.

Does anyone have a location in mind where this would be possible?

Thanks

Normans Bay cc site, not actually been to this one, but my grandparents use to go there alot. This ones in Sussex.
Happiness is packing your tent away dry & getting it back in the bag :-)

Hello and a warm welcome to the forum

Hopefully you will get some good recommendations, looks like Gillsy has listed a couple of good ones.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

Thank you for the very good suggestions. After researching I think Warren cc in Folkstone looks ideal as this was exactly the kind of sea views I was hoping for.

Normans bay looks good as well and is very close to the sea but Warren is much higher up and has a fantastic vantage point to admire the bay.

Thank you!

Do you know of any other sites like Warren cc around Dartmouth or any other local area?

There is a caravan park opposite the Isle of White, think it's called Naish, but i'm not sure if it takes tents.
There is a cc site at Charmouth but that's further from the sea. I think Merlin has recently been to Dartmouth, hopefully he will see this post.

Oh just thought of another, just above Folkestone warren , there is a private site called Little Switzerland, but it doesn't have direct access to the beach.

Thanks for the welcome, I actually stayed at the site next door (West Fleet Barn) for a week taking in the bank holiday weekend and fully enjoyed it. Only had a quick look in sea barn farm but was impressed with the views!
