Hi-de-hi Campers!

Postby lindylou on Mon Aug 30, 2010 8:02 pm

Hiya , I'm Lynda, 35 years old and was a camping virgin till this weekend!! And despite going to a really dismal campsite, i absolutely LOVED it!! I live in Cumbria so plenty of camping to be had, I'm married to Jon and have 4 kids, eldest two are 15 and 16 and not into doing anything with the rents  , little ones are 8 and almost 4, both have Aspergers syndrome, they really enjoyed it too, i think we are hooked!! So i am here to gain some Camping wisdom and steal your hints and tips, and hopefully be able to provide my own when i gain some experience

My father in law bought us this.....

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_236906

It did the trick and withstood some serious wind and rain on our first night! But, i am looking for something decent that will last and be easier to spend a week in, my older girls are just starting to get into festivals, so i will pass this one onto them as soon as we get something new.

Hi Lynda and a warm welcome to the forum.

I'm glad your youngest two enjoyed camping. Was there any concerns about camping before hand with them both having Aspergers or were they looking forward to it.

So you plan to invest in a new tent :D , anything n mind yet.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...
