first camp

So, me and the wife went to this lovley little campsite near to the leeds and bradford airport. Funily enough the planes dont get noticed. We just went to try out the new icarus 500 for a night, we dont have all the usual camping gear so it was a quilt on the floor and a double goose feather and down to keep us warm. Now some would call this glamping! but we have to make do until all the other camping gear comes to fruition and i had to make sure the wife was all nice and snugly to guarantee we would go again. So, the site is called st, helenas caravan park in otley, they have toilets, showers and a bath. Barriers to the entrance and a little laundrette, the prices are £2.00 for a 9LB load and 20p for 15 mins drying with free iron and ironing board. Plenty of wildlife especialy birds in the way of jays, and woodpeckers and the usual woodpigeons and blackbirds that will come right up to the tent. There is also a little farm across the road where you can buy eggs and meat and you can look around at the animals, they even have emu's! and two well stocked fish lakes. The campsite accept dogs wich are to be kept on the lead, but one of the best things is NO CHILDREN! Its an adult only site as i think the owner had trouble one year with teenagers from several familys getting drunk and walking all over the permanent residents gardens and flooding toilets. One lovley lady whom i didnt get her name but is a permanent resident has been there for 22 years. This is a campsite i would deffinatley go back to. The price for a night i thought was on the expensive side of £15.00 but in their defense did include electric hook up, a caravan was £16.00. But if you go to their website all the prices and other info will be on there. I hope this review helps someone to decide to give this great little site a try because it was well worth it. All in all i give this site a 9 out of 10 because of the £15.00 price.

No good for me, 3 kids

£15 per night seems quite reasonable including EHU, did you have to pay extra for the showers.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...
