What it say's on the tin really, any advice on getting a Ferry to Ireland.

I don't think I will end up doing it this year, but who knows. I really want to drop over to Ireland (Northern, Moyle area) and I have never taken a car on the ferry. I guess I would be taking 2adults, 3 children and a trailer.

Any advice and tips would be welcome, how safe is the trailer when left unattended and do you have to leave your car.

As for trailers being left.. most people dont seem to worry to be honest. I would say though don't pack anything valuable down the sides that could be pulled out with ease.. but then lets face it... you wouldn't do that anyway lol

I'm struggling to understand the link. What happens with the Tesco vouchers, how does it work .

I got a quote direct from the site, not in conjunction with Tesco and for a return journey it was coming in at about £396, does that sound normal. Sounds expensive to me for a boat ride, but maybe that's the going rate,

Irland is expensive crossing, like the tunnel!! Tesco vouchers on clubcard deals (not instore) are worth 4x value so £10 voucher is £40 we use tesco credit card, all our fuel each month go's on that and anything else shopping etc. Etc. Then clear it end of the month so no interest it's only what we would have spent cash anyway.. Tesco credit card gets points on anything not just tesco store or fuel. In fact we shop in asda still getting the points tis good for days out and eating out 40 quid bill in pizza express only 10 quid worth of vouchers just need to forward plan and order the vouchers for what you need in advance.

When I get back Wednesday/Thursday I'll do a whole post on it

So a £400 crossing could actually only cost £100 if done right.

But I would have to earn £100 in vouchers first, right . Which is why you use your Tesco Credit Card for as much as possible. We shop at Tesco and have there Credit Card, so will have to start using it for everything and coming home and paying the balance.

Yup, you just got to be strict and keep track so it's paid to avoid the interest as every penny of interest slowly destroys benefit of it all.

Yeh, was talking to the OH last night and she will pay the amount on any credit card purchase that same day. I know we can have a months interest free and all, but as you say, it can soon get away from you,,,,,,,,,,,,,that's what there hoping anyway, Its know as "responsible lending"

That's the way it is tho and sometimes can't be helped, we had to spend 400 on yazz's car last month electric window mount, she phoned me this morning saying the engine managment light was flickering on and off with loss of power at the same time! So looks like that's going to be added on now aswell!

Andy something to try.
There is a air flow mass meter in the pipe from the air filter and this will have a wite terminal block going in to it.

Disconnect the wire connector, start the engine and give it a rev for a bit then turn off and re connect.
This may solve the problem as sometimes they just need a blow through.
Did the job on my multipla.
