If i went camping with that kit, id still be getting set up 3 weeks later, but it wouldn't fit in my car anyway,

i do like the cooker stand, what kind of size is it when packed??, as my car is tiny..

It's funny, I like to think of myself as something of a "Traditional" camper. I don't use EHU (although I do carry an inverter because I'm too tight to buy a 12v charger for my phone(s) or sat-nav) & I don't tend to go in for a lot of the modern tent types or gadgets, but I'm by no means a lightweight camper.
I still see all my kit as somewhere between luxury & necessity though, like my coffee pot; Sure, I could drink instant coffee, but I simply can't stand the stuff. Camping should be a pleasure, not a chore.

Anyway, Mokas; If it's kitchen stands you're looking at, have a look at my most recent purchase here:
http://www.in-a-tent.co.uk/product/1099/Outbound%20Folding%20Camping%20Kitchen%20with%20Single%20Side%20Larder

Or check out my thread on it here:
http://www.thecampingforum.co.uk/forum/tent-accessories/topic3097.html

I seriously don't think you'll find a better kitchen stand for the money.

Mine is still in the car from last weekend, so if you need measurements I can get them for you.
I've also got some pics of it in the bag (not sure if I put them on the thread or not), if you're interested let me know & I'll post them up somewhere for you.
4 Canvas tents (various sizes)
3 Plastic tents (various sizes)
& 1 Tin tent (yes, I'm a turn-coat, but it has a canvas awning)

it wasnt the blue stand, it was this one i was referring too 2642

seems as though that would really be a flat pack one, and not take up a great deal of room..

Ah it was mine you refered to - well that cooker stand is an old 'un from Towsure some years ago. It splits into 3 shelves with the fold out leg bars, and all 3 can join together stacked as you see them in the pic. The cooker windbreak thing is part of it too, and yes it all folds very flat - no more than 4 inches deep i reckon? Not sure where anything similar could be bought from to be honest?

Looks very similar to the old Hagon ones (did I get that right? Is it Hagon or Hago? I forget)

They were very popular back in the day, they no longer make them, although similar designs can still be found. I forget the name of the most popular copy now, but it will come to me. I'll have a trawl through some of my old posts when I get the chance. You may find something about them on my "Kitchen stands, what a minefield" thread, I think that's where I learnt about them.

very annoyingly I saw a set for sale at last weekend's steam rally, I think they were the genuine article as well, still in original boxes IIRC. Can't think why I didn't buy them. Must've been something to do with no money or my mum being present, or possibly both

I'm told to be aware of imitations though, I just wish I could remember the name of the modern equivalent, I'm sure it was "Grasshopper" or "Pea-pod" or something like that :bang:

Here are some photos of my Outwell Nevada XL with front extension on its first outing in Dorset. Nice and roomy..I did manage to break one of the poles, but luckily I got a spare. All in all, a nice tent 8-)

Upload your tent photos!

Here re some pictures of my new (to me) Carolina M with side extension.

Apart from a mouldy bit by the door, I love this tent! It goes up so easily and is great for the two of us and the 2 dogs for a weekend.

And my bunting of course. Every tent needs bunting.

I'll try and bet a pic soon as I need to clean it out and air it before the winter, I don't think anyone will be impressed though. The canvas has sytarted to tear, and a seagul had a field day when in Devon recently.
