Outdoor Revolution Tents Are Back!

Postby OutdoorRambo on Fri Oct 07, 2011 8:50 am

Camping Magazine news have highlighted that Outdoor Revolution are to produce 2 new ranges of tents for 2012.

Always liked the OR brand so be interesting to see what they've come up with during their absence from the camping tent scene.

Yes they were popular tents. Could never understand why they stopped making them when they were such a success. They were the first brand to make a small low tent with a SIG in the living area.

From what i gather Elaine they thought the market was being saturated with new manufacturers and as such profit margins would be hit too much to continue to make it financially viable. Seems they've been watching the market and listened to campers needs for the past couple of years and now think the time is right to make a return with a couple of brand new ranges.............can't wait to see what they have

Yes, I read about OR making a come back, looking forward to seeing a few pitched next season. I have a OR utility tent and its quite a nice bit of kit

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

I bought the scenic 5.0 a while back as a spare for the family, used it a couple of times and it's been rock solid  ............ so hoping the new brands are even better.

I've only ever actually seen the utility tents, keeping an eye out for an on-line PD brochure to browse through. Whats the link to there official site

Just spotted this thread, i think outdoor revolution tents were very good in terms of quality, we used to stock them a few years back. Anyway, nice to see they have two new ranges of tents for the coming season.

I think why they originally struggled is because campers do tend to be fussy in terms of brand names when it comes to tents, there are only a few real well known tent brand names in the industry that you could class as household names. When OR were released the brand was very new and it can take a while to build brand awareness up in the marketplace.

Good to see they have a new range though, their tents were always very nice.
