New Isabella lightweight tents

Postby rexgrant on Tue Sep 27, 2011 9:50 pm

Hi all
Well Isabella have moved into the lightweight tent market
If the build quality is as good as their awnings then this could be a winner for all,They have used the basic design of Cabanon Type tunnel dome tent in the livingstone, but with the external poles. These are sleeved down to about 12" from the ground and price wise also looks good from the premier awning maker. but as we all know time is the only true test of a tent :bigwink:

Hi again
I have just spent a while studying the drawing of these tents. But I can never understand why they link two guying points to one peg. I could possibly live with it if the peg was a stainless steel delta peg . But some of the pegs issued with tents today leave a lot to be desired in my opinion. And if a guying point is going to let you down,it is usually the peg coming out. That means two guying points down

They look nice, I like the porch on the front. Look a lot like the Kampa tunnels if I remember right.

have to confess to being slightly dissapointed - a new brand at the quality end of camping sounded like something to get excited about but they just look like curvy pole clones made pretty much like theor awnings. If there is any innovation I dont see it

Anyone know why they chose to break into tents - is their market for awnings that tough that they need to diversify or have they got something interesting up their sleeves for next season ?
