Grangers Fabsil Tent & Awning Uni Cleaner is meant to be good, but I don't have personal experience with it.

Be interested to hear other thoughts on good cleaners.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

done you a reply

In short I would try a Milton sloution and sunshine but I'm not understanding this kitchen you mention :rofl2:

I have used the Granger mentioned above and can highly recommend it. Cleaned the Bear Lake up really good and it's not affected it adversly in any way at all. Did I show you before and after pics?

should also say that I would only use it on a polycotton tent and only on a full canvas one if it was no longer 'waterproof'

bigjeff - what sort of tent?

if it's grass on the sig then just pitch it and brush it out and perhaps wash it with plain water - or if it's stubourn a warm soapy water but not hugly soapy, but rinse and rinse and rinse

I don't think I wold Merlin - just plain water again I think.
I haven't read th ebottles of fabsil so not sure if I wuold use that to reproof.
I wouldn't go near it with any sort of detergent or chemicals. I'd be terrified of doing it some permenant irriversable damage (knowing my luck thatwould be the case)

The polyeser tents are the material and then coated with whatever it is that makes them water resistant - sometimes when they get older you can see the layer sort of peeling off - you'll get what I mean.

Bird dirt is really bad for tents and that I would just leave to dry out and then brush off - again if it's not all brushed off then plain water and sponge the area and leave to dry as many times as needed.

Ialways look a bit daft on site as I give the tent (the canvas ones) a good brushing down when we pitch and before we de-camp. Keeps the fibers dust/dirt free as much as possible and doing the job they are designed to do.
