I have a Tigris 800 and I'm pleased with it for the money. Can't fault it to be honest. I've never had a good look round the Icarus to be honest.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

Hi Dicky,

Take it back and get it swapped - the odd few have faulty stitching but the general returns on Vango have been really low for 2010. Think you probably had an unlucky tent.

Cheers

Returned the tent today and was given a straight swop got the new one home and erected it, there was foot marks all over the inner tent and what also looks like a felt or marker mark down the one side of the inner tent too, tent stitching again was of poor quality called up the supplier they have offered me a swop to a outwwell nevada m if i return the icarus+carpet+canopy or my cash back undecided what to do as i spent over 2 hours today going round the tent correcting the faults and cleaning the tent inner.

not what you really expect to be doing with a BN tent is it.

I'd go for the Outwell Nevada M. If your not happy, then it will play on your mind all the time your in the tent.

I've got 2 small vango tents and both have imperfections in the stitching but it dosent bother me as they're both strong tents and the stitching dosent come undone

I recently ordered a Vango Tigris 400 and the tent seems to be fine but after one weekend the tent carpet is full of holes :(
About 8 or 10 small holes due to the stitching coming undone but don't know how as we all took our shoes off when we were in the tent.
It just seems to have fallen apart :(

I would swap to the Nevada, your only going to be staring at the stitching every time you go camping and looking for more faults, I know I would be :D . The supplier is being quite decent in offering a swap and you can't knock them for trying to get it right for you. The Nevada has a higher HH as well.

Contact the supplier, I'm sure it must just be a faulty one. Doesn't sound good :(

I've got a Vango Tigris, which i'm pleased with, though must admit i've never took the time to study the stitching.
Happiness is packing your tent away dry & getting it back in the bag :-)

Yeh, I'm figuring it must be bad to be noticeable :( .

Hi

I purchased a Vango premium extension about 4 months ago, and I found one of the brass eyelets was missing on the door where it would porch. I'm pretty sure a couple of eyelets were missing from our Venture 500 tent when we bought that 6 years ago too.

I've never had anything bad to say about Vango. Our Venture has been a tremendous tent in the few times we've used it. Apart from the groundsheets perishing, we've never had a leak, poor stitching, broken zips or anything bad. We don't think the groundsheets perishing were exactly a manufacturing fault, perhaps more like a user storage fault and lack of use.

You've got to be 100% happy with it, otherwise you'll be distracted from each lovely camping trip you go on.
