Cooking problem

Postby sammyk on Sat Feb 20, 2010 5:27 pm

Has anyone come across a camping accessory for cooking or at least heating up a drink which doesn't involve using a gas cannister/burner? We are looking to do some camping in our plane this year but it isn't easy find an airfield which is close to facilities which allow you to have a cuppa in the morning or cook a quick hot meal in the evening. Obviously taking a gas cannister on board is not safe in case of fire etc, especially when you are carrying lots of fuel too, although I am sure some people do it!!!!
Any suggestions to any new products on the market would be appreciated.

Hi, Welcome to the forum..

Im not sure if this will help you?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/PORTABLE-ELECTR ... B0014133X0

Check out this months camping magazine I dont recall if its a review or listed in their camping awards 2010 (I'll check later tonight and confirm and provide further details)

Other than that not sure of any other product you could look at? you can get small 12v camping kettles but that will only provide you hot water not going to help with food. Problem is I dont even know if plane has a 12v cigar lighter lol or if you can use mains?? perhaps a little more info on what can and cant do?

Many thanks and welcome again.

Andy

It was actually this item in the magazine.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stellar-Sea01-P ... B000VE2MII

£70 on amazon. Page 55 of this months camping magazine RRP is listed as £156 so pretty good price considering :)
