They should rent or lend them out at camp sites! (I actually reckon that's not such a bad idea)

Anyway, it's all been a bit rushed today, I've left myself with so much to do, but I managed to find some cheap towels & have another go.

I reckon the carpet glue is the stuff, my dad calls it "blanket" glue, because it sticks like..... well, you know the saying.

He's right as well, that stuff is strong! & it should hold when damp, as I did a little test piece last night.

So, I got myself the towels, the glue, a decent pair of scissors this time ( ) & have re-done all of it.
This glue is also better as it doesn't get soaked up by the towel, whereas both PVA & superglue got soaked into the towel, reducing it's capacity to hold water.

Anyway, I'm off in the morning, for a weekend at the Ringmer Steam & Country Show, near Lewes in East Sussex, I will report back on Monday.

& yes, I have packed my thermometers :D

3 Plastic tents (various sizes)
& 1 Tin tent (yes, I'm a turn-coat, but it has a canvas awning)

Well, the glue held up well with the constant moisture, & in temperatures approaching 30degC (in the shade) I kept a constant 14degC in my fridge, sometimes dropping to 12degC.

I realise it needs more testing & I picked up a new multimeter from a trade stand, which has a temperature probe function, so I can leave it inside & check temperatures without disturbing it.

Next I'm going to try a slightly smaller one with black towelling on it. I don't think it will make much difference, & actually think it could make matters worse, especially if I accidentally left it where the sun could shine on it (you have to think ahead with these, like before you go out for the day, & when you go to bed at night, it needs to be kept out of direct sunlight). But my brother is insisting that black towel is the way to go, & it certainly does radiate heat better than light colours.
I also want to rig up some kind of drip feed water system, with a plastic container of some kind.

Hopefully I will have all of this ready for my next trip, in just under a fortnight.

We should make some up & give it a try at our local sites.

This time next year we could be millionaires, selling off franchises.
