I like the look of that one with the wire wound around it but the only thing to put me off would be the size

merlin,,

do you mean the roll up one? the one that rolls up like an extension lead, if you do then the packsize of the item is no larger than a standard mains hookup unit. It's just a little bit heavier. We have always had both but i have to admit the the regular hookup is by far more popular.

Me too. We'll be like ex-smokers next season, sighing and pointing at anybody who hasn't got a proper hook-up as if we've always done it the right way.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

Keeping it simple & idiot proof ,please.
I've had a read of the thread & I think I got it but thought I'd ask anyway.
We've never used electric in our tent but thinking of changing our ways.
I would like advice on what to get so I can have a small fridge [to put milk & marge in] & a spare socket for either a lamp or the kids DS chargers/ our phone charger if stuck in tent on a rainy day .
[Back in 2008 we had a really really wet day & all I could find to do was drink tea & used up nearly all the tea bags]
This is to be used in Europe.
Cheers for any help.

That will also do

I have to admit that i have used a home made cable for the last 2 years but this year i am making a socket board with RCD and ......... dimmer for 2 pre wired lights.... :tune:

Now before anyone takes the urine at having tent lights on dimmers the reason is that on dark evenings when the weather is bad you want the lights up bright to read but when the little ones go to bed we can dim the lights down
Forgot to mention they are also remote control so we can turn them on and off from in bed .... us glampers ...never :tune:

Love it, remote control lights in a tent. That's so far beyond glamping there aren't words for it ;o)

As ive said this is our first yr with elec so i cant go daft on buying all the top quality stuff in one go, as ive read and seen on this thread earlier would this be the cheapest option i could get away safetly with?
