Advice Driving in France
The law changed in France for drivers on October 1st 2008. All drivers must carry within their vehicle a warning triangle and a reflective jacket for the use in case of a breakdown. If you are caught without these items you could face a fine of 90 Euros
The following will be required.
A valid UK Driving Licence is required
A Camping Card International is recommended
Driver's minimum age is 18
When using a motorbike a crash helmet is compulsory
Copy of your insurance certificate (Ensure you are covered before you leave)
Green Card provides additional proof that the minimum legal third party cover is held.
Seat Belts are compulsory
GB Sticker unless your vehicle has euro plates (circle of 12 stars above the national identifier on blue background)
All radar detection equipment is prohibited
Headlamp converters
Other Items you should think about
Plenty of change (For toll roads)
Spare bulbs
Fire extinguisher
First aid kit
Good Maps or satnav (I always carry both)

If you are not a confident driver then avoid! If you must go in then you will have to learn very quickly that the only way forward is to push dont worry everyone else will be doing the same. Drivers to bump the car in front or behind in order to fit into a parking space. Unlike the UK lane disaplin on the large roundabouts is ignored and weaving your way through is the only way.
