My wishlist again!

Postby 3goglamping on Sat Jan 21, 2012 4:23 pm

Hi

Another thing on my wishlist is this...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Coolbox-Electric-Warm-Cool-Box/dp/B003UZ83WE/ref=wl_it_dp_o_npd?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2QVX29U51I4EY&colid=2G7K1SVZ2MURW

Obviously they have stuck a few food items in the top to give an idea of size, but I just wondered how much you can get in there!
I know it says the size, but I just can't picture 24L in terms of food!

I find its usually much less then you imagine.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

You'd be better off with a 3 way fridge, you'll get more inside & the cooling is better, but they are around 3 times the price ( ).

The electric cool boxes are OK though, but make sure it's a dual voltage one (12v & 230v) as you can't run them off the car (or a leisure battery) for any length of time.

I'm guessing you'll have EHU though, in which case the electric cool box will do just fine.
4 Canvas tents (various sizes)
3 Plastic tents (various sizes)
& 1 Tin tent (yes, I'm a turn-coat, but it has a canvas awning)

My other passion;

Thanks,

I've looked at 3 way fridges before, but you're right, they are very expensive.
Yes, we have EHU, and the one in the photo is dual voltage.

It was just the size I was concerned about, but don't want to go too big, or we really will have to get a trailer.

24 litre cool boxes are the standard size you see in all the supermarkets at the start of summer, usually for about £7, but the electric ones should be physically bigger on the outside due to improved insulation. We bought the Outwell one last year and it was plenty big enough for our family of 4 for the basics and we are very happy with it. You can some water condensate back inside it though.
It's worth looking closely at the specs though as they do differ and will only cool an amount below ambient temperature.

Thanks Nunfa,

I can at least picture that now. Should be big enough I reckon. Just want enough room to store barbeque and fry up ingredients really, plus the usual - butter and milk, and of course beer for the OH!

Spot on Nunfa,

Our coolbox arrived today (went for the one in the photo), and it is exactly as you described.
It looks just right for what we need, so i'm happy

That looks like a nice little fridge. I prefer the 3-way ones but they are much, much more expensive!

This one is on my wish list for this summer ;-)

Might need to gently persuade the other half for this one!
