Hi everyone

Hello all,

My name is Phil and I've been camping for years. Both with family and Friends and with Scout troops.

Recently, due to my surplus supply of Camping equipment, I have now set up a small camping equipment hire company, which although has started off small, is growing is size.

See our website, which, is due to be completed and launched officially in the new year.

Looking forward to plenty of discussions regarding camping and if anybody needs any equipment to hire short term /long term, please do not hesitate to ask.

I'm very friendly and keen to talk about a subject I love. :-)

All the best. Merry Christmas. :D

Hi Phil and a warm welcome to the forum

Good idea, i wish you luck, keep us updated on how the site is going

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

:welcome: to the forum Phil...

Just out of interest, whereabouts are you based then, and how wide would your hire coverage be geographically?

I like the idea certainly - just curious about how the hire would work if distant from wherever your location is etc?

A very good question!
A couple of options. Firstly, I am based in Stockport, so can cover the North West for delivery or collection.

The plan is that the equipment can be posted out UK wide, via a courier I have been speaking to. The tents I have are all fibre glass poles, to keep weight down, so I can offer a reasonable delivery service. Based on the hire dates, I would ship equipment out so that it arrives with "client" a couple of days before the tent is required, and then a return postage label will either be included with the initial delivery, or e-mailed to "client" so they can print it off, once they return from their camping trip and return package.

Of course, this will most likely be tweaked.

Hi. :welcome:

Sounds interesting. Some 'try before you buy' packages may be appealing to newcomers if they included tent, air beds, basic stove, etc., and a well put together guide - though with modern phones the guide could even be a collection of short videos.

I suppose schools may also be interested, especially those organising DoE and could reduce the cost for parents.
