Excellent to find a forum dedicated to all matters camping. We are returning to Camping after a twenty year break. Having stayed in summer apartments for the past we felt it was time to return to the fresh air and campsite atmosphere. We bought all new equipment in the end of season sales including the Outwell Hartford XL tent and Thule Pacific 780 roof box to sit atop my VW Tiguan.

As the weather was so good at the end of September we managed to squeeze in a fantastic short break camping in Oxfordshire. Next year, we have already booked a week's camping on the North Cornish coast (Wooda Farm) and are currently looking for a suitable site in the South of France (either Frejus or Biarritz areas). If any one has a recommendation in either of these areas it would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for a site with large shady plots, 10A electricity, fairly close to the sea and offering fridge hire.

Welcome to the forum from just west of you down the M4.
One of the members went to Frejus this summer, the site is mentioned on this thread.

Many thanks for the welcome. I've taken a look at La Residence du Campeur, attracted by the swimming complex for my 12 year old daughter who loves the water. We found in Cannes a few years ago many jellyfish in the sea so if it happens again the pool facility would be essential. The large flat plots, close proximity to the beach and individual private facilities sound appealing. I've e-mailed them to see if its possible to hire a fridge as we have run out of room in the car for this essential item.

Here us and our tent, pitched at the end of September at Greenhill Leisure Park http://www.greenhill-leisure-park.co.uk/index.htm. An ideal site for us at the time, local, spotless facilities, large level grass plot, friendly owners and good dog walking facilities.
