On line Service Getting worse

Postby rexgrant on Mon Oct 24, 2011 1:38 pm

Hi all
Last week I ordered a 2.5mm 30amp 25meter arctic cable, after a few Days two 14 meter cables arrived, we phoned them and they could not explain why we had been sent the wrong order and promised to deliver the correct one and collect the two wrong ones, Good I thought this morning the cable arrived 25meters of yellow 110volt with 110volt plugs fitted :bang: :bang: :bang: We phoned them again asked to speak to a Director and got another salesman who once again just blamed the the dispatch again    obviously they don't want their directors to know what service they are giving and money on transport they are wasting   the salesman who dealt with the first mistake phoned again and discussed it with Val, he said he would personally go down to the dispatch to find out which numskull is messing it up :tune: Val recommended that he personally pack and address it  But What I think is that dispatch as not kept their stock system up to date and they will not have them. Phone just gone again hope I am wrong. I was wrong they are getting a courier to bring it tomorrow and collect the other. As I have often said a company is only as good as their staff
What next, with Christmas on its way first 5 grand daughter and great grand daughter presents have all arrived correct two from Germany as well.
PS the quoted amperage is 30 amps but I am not going to suggest to them it may be a misprint :rofl2:
All the best
Rex.

The 2nd replacement came yesterday  and I discovered were the 32amp came from, what was delivered was a 25meter 2.5mm arctic cable with two wapping big 32 amp plugs fitted :rofl2: :tune: not their fault this time,I should have looked deeper into it. so I have removed the 32 amp plugs and sent off for two 16 amp plugs, could have saved £10 if I had just bought the cable and plugs in the first place    .
Rex

Rex, it's becoming a quest.

As much as I love internet shopping, there are times when going and pysically picking one up and saying "I want that one" is the cheapset way. Sounds like one of them times. Hope you got it sorted

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

Hi Wayne.
The new plugs came from an eBay trader top quality in two days, and fitted in ten minutes. I know what you mean about going to the store, But I am afraid when you live in Porlock within the Exmoor national park the nearest place you may get one is 30miles away, you are very thankful for the Internet, :D
From now on though I will use eBay for all my Internet shopping as they are the only stores were bad service is punished.
All the Best
Rex.

screwfix direct.

cable and plugs make it up yourself. brown to L blue to N stripey to E .

i would have used the yellow as its visible on a campsite and the cable will be insulation rated at 600V

should i say now to look for a BASEC approved cable with an embossed BS number on it as there have been quite a lot of fake cables discovered recently.
Quechua 6.2XL , and now an OUTWELL Vermont XLP . not as bitey in real life as i seem online.

Hi subaqua.
Yes that is what I should have done. but by the time I had bought the 2.5mm arctic cable and two 16amp plugs price wise was about the same so I opted for the made up one ,As I said I removed the 32amp plugs and fitted the 16 amp ones and after the run around I have got a good winter cable for the Caravan and two 32 amp plugs to dispose of :rofl2: plus costing me about £10 extra :tune:

Regards
Rex.

Rex, stick the plugs back on Ebay and recoup a little cost.
