READ: A Caravan! :rofl2:

That's right jump on the bloody "beat Wayne with a caravan" band wagon

Somehow I have just had a weird image flash before me of Wayne in one of those Aero caravans from the USA doing some sort of 'Storm Chasing' armed with his latest gadget - trying to act out one of those tornado disaster movie scenes..... :?

Weird I know, but that's what I just envisaged.... :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

OK, so that does actually kinda sound like fun :tune:

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

Sounds like a fun crossing - must be very similar to the intrepid folk that take narrowboats across the same - seen some pretty scary videos of that, and even in little or no wind it's still not for the faint hearted :o

With these gadgets, I wonder if it would either increase worries, or just be something else to find batteries for :rofl2:

Thats a good point, but then if you knew it has easily handled say 20mph winds, you would sit comfy at 16mph without a worry

 and when it's 2am and it shows 45mph.... :bigwink:
That's the bit that gets me, I like the idea of the gadget too - but if the above scenario was to happen, what would it change? Seeing the high figure may induce an enhanced panic rather than wetting a finger and sticking it out the door to see how it felt?

Over the last few years I've spent a few nights sat up all night the living area watching the roof and walls and wondering, ready to act whilst the rest of the family slept in bliss. It would help me relax i think or confirm where we are at

Instead of sitting up all night watching the roof and walls you'll now be sat up all night watching that darn weather vane. How's that relaxing? ;)

Don't listen to them Wayne, sitting up all night watching the data coming in on your laptop is far better.

At least you could be browsing this forum in between readings!

(also, I believe you can get real-time data from all UK weather stations, & you'd be surprised how many there are around the country. Chances are there'll be one close to where you're camping. I know it's not right on the spot where you are, but my bet is it'll be pretty close.
4 Canvas tents (various sizes)
3 Plastic tents (various sizes)
& 1 Tin tent (yes, I'm a turn-coat, but it has a canvas awning)

Then you can imagine Wayne running around the site at 4am shouting, "the wind is 45mph from a north west direction, my weather station told me its windy""
Camping is an addiction, and YOU will become addicted...
