Tis the Season for Colds & Flu

Postby OutdoorRambo on Mon Oct 10, 2011 8:39 am

.......but why does it always hit me at a weekend, totally ruined my weekend :uhoh:

Feels like i've been swallowing razor blades, hot sweats/cold shivers and coughing me guts up......... and do i get any sympathy off the missus?, hell no, seems my feeling unwell ruined her weekend too and it's all my fault!!! :bang:

......even the dog is looking at me to say much the same about the weekend as i didn't walk as far and play with him as much as i usually do

I'm sure the guys on here fully understand how disabilitating 'man flu' can be at least :tune:

Don't get me started regarding unsympathetic women!

Missus kept having a go last night....."You've basically been indoors all weekend and you've not hoovered, you've not made the beds, you've not peeled the spuds"........i don't do that when i'm feeling well so sure as hell ain't gonna do it when i've got Man Flu

tut, tut, women!!

I agree, Man Flu is a serious subject, women are so lucky

Heres the link

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

I just wish the last 5 days ive been bad was just flu.. last 5 or so days has had me in total agony , after getting more tablets for my concoction from the doctor, he sent me to the in house physiotherapist, she said its a compressed nerve in the base of my spine, that's why my cocktail of pain killers were doing nothing, strange really as its the same one who said the issue with my left arm was just weak muscles, after a fracture, and that resulted in surgery the following year (June this year)...hmm, the plot thickens,,,,

Ooooh, don't get me started about doctors

Two years ago i was told i had tendonitis in my foot, was in agony hobbling round for 3 weeks, eventually got a 2nd opinion, they x-rayed it and i'd actually broken it (the outer bone) but seeing as it had now already calcified 'inline' then they just left it to it's own devices.......... but now i do have ongoing tendontis from when it was broke :(

Not long after that i had to have an arthroscopy on both knees (due to osteoarthritis), they couldn't get the swelling down on my right knee after the operation, i had 6 cortisone injections in the right knee and drained 4 times within 6 months :o
Upshot is, this all destroyed my cartilage on both outer bones (where they had injected it), now 6 operations later (3 on each knee) i'm left with needing a total knee replacement on my right knee and requiring a metal plate behind my left knee cap.............. but they won't do it yet as they say i'm too young! :?

Went to see doc the other day with view to getting some kind of permanent anti-inflamatory (if possible), Ibruprofen doesn't help with the swelling but Voltarol (diclofenac) does. He sat there and told me you can't get Voltarol tablets only the cream, i said you can tablets, he said you can't, i said i can and produced them to show him  ............ he turned round and said well i can't prescribe them! :uhoh:

He did give me a months supply of some other brand name but it's basically the same stuff :tune:

I had Diclofenac a while ago, it was like eating smarties same with 2x 500mg Ibuprofen, so to help (they think it will help) I've been given 500mg Naprosyn and some little blue pills.... All i can do is try, but its getting silly now, I rattle 3 times a day now, an not just in the morning.. But i did get my flu jab yesterday, so that was 1 bonus....

Why cant your doc prescribe generic Diclofenac, if they wont prescribe the cream, why not get the tablets...

No, he won't supply the tablets, cream is no good for my knees.
