Can anyone recommend camping chairs

Postby Spandles on Wed Sep 07, 2011 12:25 pm

Hi, me again with another question. Can anyone recommend a comfortable camping chair. Ideally this would be suitable for sitting at the table and snoozing on, BUT needs to be light and compact as we don't have much room inthe car. Thanks again

Actually in my opinion the chair you are after does not really exist.

We have stools for sitting at the table, and they fold up and fit inside the table when the table is folded for traveling.

I think these are the comfiest two chairs I have come across but they are to bulky for eating at a table really.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

I have some Outwell Chairs, we use them to sit outside the tent, or inside and with our table, they are very comfortable, collapse umbrella style and fit in a carry bag, I couldn't snooze in them though!

Just got myself 2 of these before my last camping trip and I am very glad I did.

Only downsides were that the kids wanted to sit in them all of the time and they are a bit bulkier when folded than I'd have liked.

I think chairs are such a personal thing that you really need to try them out for yourself and find what you like.

Good point and I totally agree. The two chairs I recommended are from personal experience and to date nothing has bettered them. But thats to suit my comfort level.

I have a pair of Quest Traveller chairs that ive had for about 4 years now and ive been very pleased with them. The back reclines so they very easily convert from upright chairs ideal for eating at a table to comfy laid back chairs for a snooze. They have stood up to 4 years of abuse and are still in good nick.

I bought them primarily because they are very flat and slim when folded up, i drive classic Triumph cars, the boots of which tend to be long and shallow rather than short and deep like a modern car so a chair that folds up flat, rather than into a cylinder suits me better.

They are still listed on a few sites - http://www.koolkamping.com/store/index. ... ductId=175 - but most seem to be out of stock, not sure if you can still get them anywhere.
