newbie from stoke on trent

Postby wilderness warrior on Fri Sep 09, 2011 10:35 am

hi all,
i have been into camping for a fair few years now but only recently started to use campsites as a holiday destination. i am a motorsports instructor working at most racetracks across the uk and mainly used my tent as accomedation whilst working. just recently i have been out of work due to health reasons and have started to camp for a bit of r and r, upto yet i have only been to shell island s i love the freedom to pitch up where you like for that added peace and solitude (usually in the wooded area).
looking forward to meeting some new friends and learning a few other campsites with the same freedom as shell island.

many thanks
martin.

hanks for the warm welcome guys :D

im currently using a halfords cheapie due to someone thinking it would be funny to knife my montana pretty badly rendering it only useful for making kit bags out of. the tent i am using is the urban escape nantai 4 and i gotta say its a very nice bit of kit for a cheapie. after witnessing the dredded winds at shell island i wanted a tent that had a bit of strength and with this one having the poles crossing at five points i thought it would do the job until funds allow me to get another outwell.
maybe after a few more camps il write a review on the nantai for newbies not wanting to spend alot of money until they have decided they like camping.

:welcome: to the forum Martin

You seem to camp like me - I work at Airshows which involves setting up and clearing down etc so camp for work too...

Nice looking tent - shame about your Montana though - little :x :x :x :x 's

Hope you enjoy this forum - friendly if not slightly mad.... and it's quiet at the moment as there's a forum campout going on all weekend so we can run riot on here until they get online :rofl2: :rofl2:

Wondered where everyone was CC... God that came round quick eh???

:welcome: Martin and :tent: ...
Nothing wrong with the cheaper ones mate. I got a few cheap ones and used a summer tent when i did a tour on my mountain bike last month; Only to be hit by the worse storm to hit Lincolnshire for 30 years!!!!! :bang: Was all good though coz i set up in a barn :tune: :tune: . What a shame about the other tent. Oh well this lot will cheer you up or drive you mad (probably both to be honest :rofl2: )

WW if you want to write a review I've added the Natai to :iat:

Looks like a good solid little tent actually.

Hi WW and a warm welcome to the forum.

I'm so sorry to hear about your tent, any ideas or was it just random vandalism

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...
