Back garden camping an excuse to test new mattress

Postby Camp Moose on Fri Sep 02, 2011 8:16 am

Daughter wants a sleepover with her mates at weekend in a tent & I didnt want to get ours out so we borrowed Father-in-Law's Lichfield Apache 3 that he uses when off on his vintage motorbikes.
Eldest son wanted to camp out & as our new mattress arrived the other day we decided to sleep out in the garden last night.
The trusty old inflatable mattress got a bit lumpy on holiday as the embossed pattern started to wear out & odd uncomfortable bulges appeared.
We ordered a Campingaz Smart Quickbed double on Bank Holiday Monday from Attwoolls. http://www.attwoolls.co.uk/Air-Beds-Mat ... ouble.html

It is a very comfortable mattress , I like the 'secret' compartment under the pillow for valuables & the material it's made of feels better quality than similar air beds we've used that have let us down.
Our old mattress was even thicker material but as I say those lumps have brought it to the end of it's useful life.

The odd thing about back garden camping is you know your own bed is just a few metres away.....
Here's a couple of pics.

Are the pillows detachable/loose ort fixed on the Campingaz double.

Only reason I ask is I just brought the kids a couple of new Campingaz single beds and I ordered two Coleman flannel Sheets for them

They turned up yesterday and after a quick wash to soften them up the kids are really pleased with them. The double is available here

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

The pillows are attached, they fold up to reveal the storage recess.
They hold in plac with some clips.
Thought we'd go with inflatable pillow to save space in car.
we have a small camping pillow each for extra comfort.

Nice one, got it now, thats a big secret pocket

You could fill it with water and use it as a tinny chiller :D
