khazi vs luggable loo??

Postby coll26 on Thu Aug 18, 2011 6:26 pm

Hi All
Just wanted to see if anyone has either of these or rates one better than the other??

Am thinking of buying one for our nxt camp over the bank hols, read reviews that tell us loo block a good hike from tent field etc (staying at Spiers House, Pickering). Got a 3yr old who will no doubt need a late night or early morning trip and for some reason whenever I go camping I feel that mid-night urge too lol! (possibly just the tea and alcohol too!)

So, would really appreciate any advice etc in helping with my purchase!!!

We have a KK, haven't needed to use it yet, but it is very well thought out and has a lid and bucket arrangement inside for the emptying trip, which may make things a bit more discreet ;-)

I have kk, cheap, easy to use and doesn't take up much space as you can pack things inside it.

Thanks all,
Must admit I do like the look of the kk better, and its cheaper than the luggable which I was surprised at, only 14.50 at our local camping stockist!!

I've got the kk too and think it's essential for night time loo trips! It's really sturdy too.

Can I just quickly hijack this one & ask; what do you do with your "bucket-&-chuck-it" (as they always used to be called!)

I know the obvious, so there's no need to tell me that, but I wanted to know;
do you use a special loo-liner & blue fluid?
Or do you use a bin liner & cat litter?
Or don't you bother with the liner, just use some fluid in it?
Or maybe some combination?

The reason I ask is, I've got the possibility of a Luggable Loo, for free. It's brand new, never been used. But I want to store stuff in it so I can actually fit it in the car.
My brother, the current owner, reckons just put fluid in it, use it. When packing up, give it a good rinse, then put a liner in it to carry whatever I wish to carry in transit.

Any feedback welcomed....

No 1's only in the loo, emptied in the morning and cleaned out with anti bacterial disinfectant.

Then poor some more disinfectant in just to keep it smelling fresher.

Bought a KK earlier this year & used it this trip for 2 weeks for night time wee.
It got a bit full some nights with the 5 of us using it.
My job to empty it every morning.
A lot better than the old wee buckets we used to use.
It does take up a bit more space in car but well worth it.
As already said it's also a useful for storage in the car, all our crocs, sandals etc fitted inside when turned upside down.
All kept neat & tidy by keeping it in an old tent bag.

I have the KK but I don't use a bag liner or cat litter or blue stuff. We just use it (night time wee's only) and empty it and rinse it out with a bit of water and empty that. Then I use anti-bacterial wipes (the floor wipes are much bigger than the worktop wipes) and bob's your auntie...clean for the next night.

I did put Zoflora in it once and couldn't stand the stink which took a week to go away.

The loo doesn't smell, the KK has an inner lid (don't know about the luggable loo) and I suppose the lid keeps nasties in.
