Quiet/isolated campsites?

Postby Allsop on Sat Aug 13, 2011 6:18 am

My wife and I are looking for "quiet" campsites and wonder if anyone can help with recommendations? We have a rescue dog which is daft about people but doesn't like other dogs so we always keep her on a lead when out. Our preferences are isolation, quiet, no midges as Beryl is very allergic, (lets out Scotland I guess?) and preferably no camper vans or caravans. Toilets and washroom are probably necessary and possibly shower but this not so important. Small sites much preferred which accept dogs. Any suggestions that fit the bill would be greatly appreciated England or Wales or Scotland if no midges! We live on Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border so thinking Wales, West Country, Northhumberland...well you get the idea, anywhere "away". Cheers.

How about Cumbria???

We have just stayed here;

Yes they do allow caravans but only a max of five if their fully booked!!!

It's adults only and they allow dogs

Here's some pics we took while there;
