I am new here and wanted to introduce myself, my name is Andrew & my wife is Beryl. We are both interested in camping and have lots of experience as Beryl was a Guide Captain for many, many years and took her guides camping every year. We have a rescue dog which is daft about people, (she seems to particularly like children) but doesn't like other dogs so we always keep her on a lead when out. We haven't been camping on our own for 25 years or so but now want to get back to it and are in the process of buying a tent and gear. Our preferences for campsites are isolation, quiet, no midges as Beryl is very allergic, (lets out Scotland I guess?) and no camper vans or caravans. Would like toilets and washroom and a shower would be a bonus which would be nice but not essential. Small sites much preferred which accept dogs. Any suggestions that fit the bill would be greatly appreciated England or Wales or Scotland if no midges!
I am 65 in a couple of months time and Beryl is a year older, I still work part time for M & S and want to do so for while yet, but we do have plenty of time to go camping. Thinking about getting a Vango Icarus as it seems plenty big enough for the two of us and the dog.
