Suffolk campsites that allow 18 year olds

Postby tdewhurst on Tue Jul 26, 2011 3:17 pm

Hi everyone,

Me and my friends are looking to go camping around next July/ August time, and while I've searched the internet for campsites that allow groups (of 4/6) of our age, little results have been yielded :(.

Does anyone know of any campsites that allow groups of 18 year olds in the Suffolk area?

Many Thanks! :)

If its a mad wild camping trip your planning.... Beer,high-jinx,late nites etc... I reckon your gonna struggle finding anywhere!!! But if your all going for just camping and some fun(as oppose to acting like nutters!!!) then you could approach campsites who have this rule and they may take your word that you just want to go camping and have some fun!!!

I am not saying you and your friends are nutters!!!! Its just a rule with some places i guess, prbly because ppl in the past have been rowdy and they were in that age group... I know 50yr olds who can be bloody rowdy!!! :rofl2: Cant help with the area though... soz

Hi and a warm welcome to the forum.

Badger is on the same line of thinking as me. Its going to be hard to find somewhere, but it might be worth approaching someone in person and asking to be given a chance. Good luck

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

getting booking for groups of any age can be an issue, ive come across this myself, i book for a group of campers, soon as you mention you want more than 3 pitches, the site owners alarm bells ring, i normally book a minimum of 6 pitches for our crowed, worse thing is our camping crew range from ages 5 to 75, so most of them are not spring chickens, but can be found climbing trees from time to time..

Ways I have found a way to get them to listen, is be polite when you ring them, explain to them that your not the usual Friday larger louts, visit the site a few times, and try to get to know the people who run the site, the better you are known to them (in a good way), the easier it would be to get your group on there. Its hard to earn a good reputation and it cant be done overnight, but it takes a matter of minutes to loose it

mokas is right too... You have a full year to build up a good impression; have a few visits to the site, just a few of you and then just ask about all of you but offer to go off peak 1st to see how it goes and if the site owner happy after that you be okay for the summer hols i reckon.... Love the comment about climbing trees :rofl2:

the tree climbing is actually true lol, the group that i book for are all licensed ham radio operators (myself included), we also teach to get people licensed (all 3 levels), so when we go camping, our village normally looks like an antenna farm, one year we ran a long wire from the top of a tree to the end of the tent village we create, so someone had to climb the tree, i would mention names, but i wont ;P . and i don't climb trees i afraid of heights..

here is an images with a few of our camping crew and a couple of antennas lol.... 2178

normally we can operate on any band from 1.8mhz up to 430mhz on any mode, most of us have radio's in our cars also. I just normally use a vhf/uhf in the car, but contesting the other toys come out to play.
