Hi all
Well we had it fitted by a Volvo technician to-day the free 13 pin to 7 pin adaptor cost us £25 they said they supplied it but not free :tune: total price £573. We took it in at 1000 hrs and was told it would be ready to collect at 1500hrs.When we got back at 1500 hours he said it was all fitted but they were working with the Swedish HQ to sort out the software inputs, that took them 55 minutes .They have now said it is now 100% It will now recognize that a trailer as been attached and the Computer will set in motion the towing stability setting,will disconnect the reversing function, and do something to the suspension :rock: And all I want to do is tow a caravan charge the caravan battery and run the fridge That's all

fascinating read, thanks folks

and an interesting insight into how technology seems to be in everything these days. Another excuse to talk to the wife about an Amazon estate as a second car me thinks

as for main dealers . . . mmmm

When I had company cars they were always very obliging (but I only had to sign something and they got paid). With private cars they were great in the first year or two (all Japanese dealers) but didnt seem to like slightly older cars cluttering up their car park. One year I ended up with such a massive row with Toyota I would never buy one of their cars again or step in a Toyota main dealers either - one summer they did a full brake rebuild with new discs etc for MOT on my Celica (it ate brakes regulalry) and 12 months later at next MOT it needed a full new set of discs, I claimed it was within warranty - they said (and I quote) "it had taken more than 12 months for me to bring it to there attention", it had gone in for the work 1 yr and 3 days after the orginal work B*&^%$%^&s

I still like the small family run main dealerships though - the ones where the guy in the office owns it but you still have full manufacturer backup. We went to Citroen after the Toyota debacle and do like their cars (sorry nutgone) and the little dealers we have near us

Litttleskink, my first 4 or 5 cars were french, I used to love them.
It's a running joke in my household, especially as one of our neighbours said to my dad the other day "I was just admiring your classic car" with reference to my old Beemer. Can't believe my dad even told me she'd said it, he's given me ammunition for months with that one! :rofl2:

Rex, I'm glad it's all fitted & done now. I just hope it all runs smoothly from now on (fingers crossed for you, there's a lot of technology in there).
Enjoy your caravan, you've definitely earned it.
4 Canvas tents (various sizes)
3 Plastic tents (various sizes)
& 1 Tin tent (yes, I'm a turn-coat, but it has a canvas awning)

My other passion;
My 1983 BMW 525e

Rex, your going to be towing with confidence and peace of mind and thats all that matters :cool: :cool: :cool:

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...
