I was looking at this since dh can only get charcoal properly lit with the aid of lighting gel, but this meant it burnt too hot and wrecked my cazal barbecue.

Is the safari chef going to be too small for four of us (2 adults, 2 kids age 8 and 6)? The next one up is twice the price but might be necessary. The smaller one would create less fuss if I 'accidentally' ordered it but not if it wasn't big enough.

Or do I get a Cobb?

I want it to BBQ primarily as we have a double gas stove, and a single as well. But I guess anything else I can do on it would be a bonus.

What size am I looking at packed away? Thinking of space since I have already extended the trailer and space is still tight!

looking at the sizes of each of them, the mini cadac chef that runs on a canister (this one http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-3070.aspx ) has these dimensions...

now the dimensions for the cadac chef that runs on a gas gas bottle the £70 from tesco direct This one ( http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.209-4900.aspx ) has these measurements.

seems the only difference between the 2 is the type of gas system required to run it.. cooking areas are the same..

cooking area is about the same size as a 12" dinner plate,


I think a cobb is smaller still, as ive never seen one in the flesh

it give the dimensions as
