Now I've got a tent with some living (& standing) space, I don't think it would bother me much either.
I just get a warm glow from camping anyway, & as a solo camper I'm VERY comfortable with my own company.
Can't deny a bit of sunshine is preferable though, & although we were taken camping in all weathers when I was a kid, things just seem to be different with kids today. Not saying it's any better or worse, just different.
We were discussing it last night, my brother, his wife & myself, how did we used to camp, as a famiy with small children (my siblings & me) without such luxuries as a fridge or cool box! The very thought of it
& as for the weather? My dad's work colleagues used to ask him to warn them when he was going camping, as they wouldn't plan anything at all because it nearly always guaranteed rain!

4 Canvas tents (various sizes)
3 Plastic tents (various sizes)
& 1 Tin tent (yes, I'm a turn-coat, but it has a canvas awning)
My other passion;
