Vango Midas 400 reviews?

Postby arichie999 on Thu Jul 14, 2011 1:26 pm

Hi all, this is my first post here and my first dip of my toe into proper camping. I've been searching around for a long weekend tent for a small family, 2 adults and 1 child (so far), I've come across a Vango Midas 400 which I reckon fits the bill, having two rooms at opposite ends of the tent which the other half likes the idea of. The small problem is I can't find a review of that tent anywhere, although most Vango tents seem to be fairly well reviewed from what I've seen.
So I was wondering if anyone out there had any thoughts or experience of this tent, or if not maybe any similar alternatives? Thanks in advance.

Hi
Welcome to the forum :welcome:

As you say reviews are few and far between but had a good look on the net and the tent looks good and solid, 3000HH, plenty of space and sewn in groundsheet

The only thing i would suggest is the side canopy as this gives you somewhere to cook and sit out and also meand the door can be open when it is raining

Overall looks a good tent  :tent:

Thanks for looking guys, I've seen it for £149.99 delivered, which for the tent, seems pretty good value to my novice eye. Haven't seen anything similar for that kind of money, at least not from a decent make.
The extension looks good and I like that the extras are there but the plan is make sure the other half enjoys it all before I start doing the home improvements, carpets etc, as long as she can plug the hair dryer in somewhere though she'll be fine.

Thanks for looking, and that looks like a rather nice tent, just not sure if something a little smaller to start with might be a better idea, I've already fallen into the "for a little bit more you could get...." trap, I started off thinking of buying the Eurohike Cairngorm 4 Person Tent from millets for £90, oh decisions decions!!!
