Hello and baby related question

Postby kerryq on Tue Jun 07, 2011 12:24 pm

Hi Everyone,

this is my first time on the forum. I came across it while trying to find information about camping with a baby. Myself and the the hubby are hardened wild campers so no problem with us to but this summer we are planning to take our baby boy Kaidan with us. He will be about 16 months when we go. We bought a Hartford XL (actually bought it before he was even born) and can wait to get using a family size tent - a tent we can actually stand up in!! WooHoo!!! Anyway, my only concern about taking him with us is the possibility of him overheating in the tent if we happen to get a warm sunny morning (I know wishful thinking). I have no worries about him at night as I know its cool but I am just looking for some advice as to what to sleep him in or what to do about the heat of the tent in the morning, its easy for us to just keep the sleeping bag off but just concerned about the wee man. Could anybody give me any advice? Thanks in advance.

Hello and a warm welcome to the forum.

We camped with our little one from a very early age 12 weeks or something there abouts.

Theres quite a few threads on here about it, do a search for babies and it should return quite a bit of info.

Also check out this sleeping bag

Also check out this travel cot (as well as the solar cover, that actually also gives extra warmth)

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...
