I am interested to know more about the certificated sites scheme and how it works these days
We have 2 young children and my wife is pretty risk averse - I like the sound of the little sites and think it would be great for the kids to go to farms and stuff rather than larger more organised sites. In terms of cost effectiveness it is £39 to join C&CC, which is about the same a cheap weekends camping. Mind you last time we were a member I got fed up of the monthly magazine/junk mail . . .
My wife is concerned about how secure these places will be for tents. And how safe for kids. We have a loo (and can cope without a shower if we must) though
I am more concerned about how friendly - have been to a couple of smaller sites in the past, it was all Caravanners and they were really rather snotty to us "poor campers" - mind you the tine tent lot can be a bit funny like that, I always assume it is envy of our freedom really
What I do like is the range of locations, ie we want to go to Belton House in June and in terms of nearby "public" sites the choice is limited but there are 2 or 3 possibles in terms of certificated
any experiences/thoughts most welcome
