Yep, we did nodes point last year.

See here

Errmmmm, hard to answer. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it, but I wouldn't try and talk you out of it either  . Take the swimming pool, its smaller than it looks and its quite run down. When it rains the roof leaks from a few places, you can see the holes where the rust has eaten the roof away. The people running it are nice enough and we really liked the spot we had near the sea. Its all just OK to be honest, if it was cheaper then it would be value for money, but its not cheap.

In all fairness we had a bad week with the weather and Liam was about 6months old and was quite a hand full, so we didn't enjoy it as much as we could. The kids loved it though and there was a supermarket near by, also the shop on site was OK. So in all fairness we may seen it in a slightly bad light because we didn't enjoy it so much.

We even said coming home, that we have to go back to The Isle of Wight and do it properly one day. I think my OH and the kids would go back to be honest.

If ypou have any questions about the site feel free to ask.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

Just returned from the IoW and I can tell you this, the best beaches are on the East of the Island, Shanklin, Sandown and Ryde. If it were me I'd rule out Thorness Bay for that reason. I'd be tempted to go for one of the Shanklin ones, an indoor pool is pretty high on our list of must haves and the beach is supposed to be fantastic, as is the Shanklin Chine.

Shanklin beach and Shanklin Chine are fantastic - we stay on the Island every year and always go to Shanklin
You are only jealous because the little penguins are talking to me

Went to Lower Hyde last year and going back this year, so that indicates we liked it.

The camping area is decent enough if not inspiring. The pitches are large though.

The toilet block is new however last year had problems with hot water, which we complained about and was advised that the boiler had an issue, it wasnt resolved during our two week stay. Additionally they werent cleaned enough for my liking and were often dirty.

There are two swimming pools, an outdoor pool and an indoor pool which we didnt use but looked small.

The thing we liked was the nightlife, there was a big clubhouse with decent enough entertainment for the kids which was good to go to to get out of the tent in the evening for a couple of hours as the weather wasnt great.

The location is its main strength though, right by Shanlin and not far from Sandown, which was our favourite beach.

Its a good family site that could be improved in some areas but our kids loved it and it made a good base to explore the island.
