Need help identifying my camping trailer.

Postby andyk68 on Mon Aug 30, 2010 9:17 pm

Hi all, I bought a trailer recently to take camping (thought it may stop the car boot from being full but we still manage to fill that aswell) and I'm having trouble identifying the model. The make is Trigano and its the smallest they do, approx 3.7' x 3'. Any help would be appreciated as I need to get some high sides for it and its a tad smaller than the usually caddy types. Thx.
I camp, therefore I am.

No me neither, in fact if it wasnt behind my car I wouldnt believe it existed. Even the Trigano site doesnt have it, just trailer tents. On further investigation it looks like a Maypole. One of those deals where a generic shape is made then lots of manufacturers put their name on it.

EDIT:
Found this and I believe its the same. Maypole 712.

Trigano don't make trailers I don't think. We have a Trig Trailer Tent but it's not like the trailer you posted at all.

They also do camper conversions I wonder whether it's an added extra for those. It's probably a re-branded trailer made by someone else.

If you know the measurements then you should be able to work out if an extension fits.

The measurements and look of mine are exactly the same as the Maypole 711 (not 712 as previously stated).
Decided to go down the DIY route with the high sides, way too expensive otherwise.

Thx for your help guys.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

Thx Wayne.
Strange coincidence here, when I was searching high side kits I found your tutorial and joined this forum. However, at the time I didnt realise the trailer I have (Trigano DBD) and your Maypole 711 was one in the same.

Do you still have the dimensions for the timber and brackets?

Yes I'll measure it all up tomorrow.

I remember, I worked the hight out by purchasing the Maypole high side cover first and working the difference in hight between the standard cover and high side cover.

If your interested there is a proper high side kit for the trailer, but its mesh and about £90, then you need the high side cover at about £40.

I've seen the mesh sides and dont really fancy it, plus I think 90 quid is a lot to pay for what you get. I'd rather have solid sides and buy the high cover.

As punishment, I'll buy a caravan :o . I clean forgot all about it.
