Hi there. I'm a noobie too (so hope no-one thinks is out of order my saying hello) so don't quite feel right to `welcome you to the site' but just thought it would be nice to say hello !

Hope you have many more camping trips & sure the glitches will be less. They'll still happen like at times but you can usually get a good laugh about it - even if it takes a while... lol ! Our last trip the other week was a catalogue of disasters but we still had a lovely time.

Hiya, glad you enjoyed your first trip. One question.. when you slept on the airbed did you still just use a duvet? You may find this is ok for the odd night but when it gets really chilly the air in the bed also gets chilly and you end up with backache (my mum did it). So I'd invest in a good sleeping bag to give that barrier against the cold. I fund that getting a good nights sleep is a must when camping. Hope you have many more good trips.

Agreed, but actually I think you have to go even further than that. The actual airbed needs insulating from the ground with something like a foam mattress (the cheap ones like this). In the cold months whilst early evening your body warms the sleeping bag and airbed up by the early hours of the morning its got so cold that the air in the airbed has been chilled considerably and in turn taken all the air from your sleeping bag or quilt, hence you wake around 3am shivering. Its a science I learned the hard way
Also if you use an airbed consider a cover, Colemans do one cheap enough for single and double airbeds

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

Absolutely Wayne. We bought one of those Coleman sheets for my daughters airbed but on ours we just use those cheap fleece blankets from IKEA. Anything really to stop that early morning chill.

We had a duvet on the air bed & then a duvet over the top, found this very comfortable.
I tend to get very hot in bed normally, woke a few times through the night (tend to do that at home anyway, so nothing unusual) & was a very comfortable temperature, i did have t-shirt, jog bottoms & socks on but still sleep as well as i do at home.
We are only planning on using the tent for weekends away, not for week holidays so hopefully our set up should be ok.

Cheers for the advice.
