In the end we have ordered a Vango Spectre 300. From what we have seen it is a suitable size for us and a reasonable weight at 3.2kg, also we managed to get it for £65 including delivery! The Spirit 300+ was another contender but it's price made it out of our league. If we're going to spend that kind of money then it would be for a car camping tent rather than backpacking.

I am astounded by the number of awesome tents available, and very tempted to get myself a lighter and smaller one man all seasons tent, but I'm not sure how my wife would react. ;)
