selling stuff that isn`t in stock

Postby scaley on Tue Aug 16, 2011 9:02 pm

I bought a tent with footprint and carpet online only to get an email a few days later telling me the tent and footprint was being delivered, but the carpet was out of stock.They said they would let me know when the carpet is in stock.They took the money, and a week later still no carpet, and most places have sold out.It is so annoying as the whole package was a good deal which swung my choice on price from another tent.Now it looks like i will have to wait and hope, or pay an extra £40 from another supplier.
\\\surely it isn`t that difficult to put in the computer there is 10 in stock, and once they are all bought it will say out of stock.It really gets on my nerves

Yeh that is annoying.

I don't mind if I'm consulted before the money is taken and a realistic time frame of delivery is given. I'm quite patient, as long as I have a firm delivery date.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

If you can find one from another supplier you should contact your seller & let them know. You've paid for the goods so they should deliver them. Either they should buy it for you, or you should buy it & send them the bill!

(Dunno why I'm getting so worked-up, it's not even my problem. You're absolutely right though, it does get on your nerves).
4 Canvas tents (various sizes)
3 Plastic tents (various sizes)
& 1 Tin tent (yes, I'm a turn-coat, but it has a canvas awning)

My other passion;
My 1983 BMW 525e
