I read that earlier rex, i thought it was a very good article. Surprised it came from Russell Brand, i always thought he was a bit of a prat.

Do you know its strange you should say that Gillsy because I've never had time for Russel Brand, like you I always thought of him as an idiot but I watched him being interviewed by Piers Morgan recently and it changed my mind about him!

I used to dislike him. But I sometimes wonder if he is actually a genius sometimes. I have Booky Wook 1 and 2 on my wish list of reads.

I'll ignore the Mail story as they just make stuff up, and unlike wikipedia nobody has the chance to correct them.

The times story says

"Zulfar Hussain, 48, was due to be sent back to Pakistan on his release from prison where he is serving a jail term for giving vulnerable girls drugs and alcohol before having sex with them."

The important bit being on his release from prison

When you are released from prison you have paid your debt to society. You might argue the sentence was too lenient but that's nothing to do with the Human Rights Act.

This guy doesn't have more human rights than you or I, we can't be sent away from our families either for the same reasons.

Andy, you might be right. Really i don't know. Yes, if used for the purpose it was intended then it might be a good thing. I just can't help feeling that like many ideas, they aren't implemented properly and open to abuse. I think there are immoral people making a lot of money out of it and some very bad people hiding behind it

Nothing is going to change, so i guess it don't matter either way. But i do see where your coming from and I do respect you have a valid point.

3. Bring back national service.

Please, no, not National Service. These rioters are bad enough, if they had done National Service you would have well trained, well disciplined rioters.

Back to more important matters, I was bought up on Star Trek when I were t' nipper. I am now trying to get into ST The Next Generation but I'm finding it heavy going, is it worth the effort or should I stick with the original series? I managed to get into other sci-fi's, Blake's 7, Red Dwarf, Star Wars, Alien(s) Cattle Car Galactica, Firefly........

But The Next Generation? I'm just not getting it......... HELP!!!!!!

I'd stick with it Matt as the Next Generation created one of the best Sci Fi enemies of all time the BORG!!!

Gotta agree Matt but the spin off film (Serenity) was fantastic........... shame they haven't done a sequel though
