Camping, a bit of fly-fishing/fly-tying, hillwalking and a bit of photography and more camping. :D :D
If you're not doing it outdoors, it's not worth doing!

the horrible nasty winter days where there's no hope of getting outside will be spent inside, probably decorating the house. the weather holds for long enough, probably a bit of walking with the dog, a few impromptu rambles, and if the ground isn't wet and icy, maybe some cycling. but I'm expecting a snow sodden winter like the one we've had this year/last year, and I have a pair of wonderful snow hiking boots, so I wouldn't mind getting out in the snow and doing some good intensive walking. I just need to get an ordnance survey map of the local area so we don't get lost again

I've just bought some mud plugging tyres for my MTB so I'll be giving them a good test :-)

ones with big knobbly bits that mean i can ride through the mud, my old ones pick up the mud and after a short while can completely clog up so they won't even go around. the new ones should shed the mud so I can keep going. time will tell. they are also good in the snow :-)

you've got a disco merlin? NICE! I want one, but have to wait until I've got the money to buy one, can find a decent specimen and by some miracle be convinced that i'll get 40mpg out of the TD5 :tune:

i did an off roading taster session a few months back and had a wicked time in a Defender, which is what sparked my interest in Disco's. I think I will settle for a Suzuki Jimny for now as I can't justify the need for a huge off roader like a Disco when I just need it to drive over country lanes to work :bigwink:

Every time I see off-roaders out and about it always reminds me of those fast show characters

there's always a long line of them snaking along some track, seems like being in a muddy traffic jam to me :-)

they are barred from the droves around here over winter as otherwise the droves get ruined, there's big steel gates across the entrances and in some cases huge hay bales - by huge I mean enormous, like 4 or 5 foot high/deep and 8-10 feet long. luckily for me there's always a nice little space to ride around :-) will get a pic of them next time i'm out.

I imagine I will be doing quite a few reviews for in-a-tent and I'm also planning a wild camp on Kinder Scout around November, wanted to do it last year and never got chance.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

Mine is a 95 series 1 300tdi

It is tidy alround exept the seats which have taken a battering.

I used to have a 2.5L series 3 deisel which i used to take on fun days untill i blew the engine wading toooo deep, so i replaced the engine with a GMC 6.8L twin turbo V8 deisel. That was a beast of a motor and i loved it up until i sold it. (had a prang and had not told old insury man about the engine change)

I am getting around the 25-28 mark around town and 30-32 on a run so not too bad for an old tonker toy :D :D

Just make sure you don't come back down on any 'unauthorised routes' LOL. :rofl2:
