I would love that for, say, a honeymoon or a romantic weekend, but I could not make my tent look like that. My tent has muddy shoes and dog hair on the floor, the lamps are plastic, the chairs are mismatched. The storage pockets have bin liners and sun cream stuffed into them. So sadly, I cannot glamp until the kids are off and I can prettify a tent to suit myself...and to be honest I'm not sure if I would be bothered anyway.

totally agree with you! you can find more information about romantic trips in this blog: http://www.combovers.co.uk/

Hi
I have always considered a camper is one that sleeps with only is bed and groundsheet between him/her and mother earth, and a canvas be it cotton or synthetic above his/her head,
Just because we spend time in a tent we don't have to slum or eat and cook on the ground, we have every right To glamp as its been called by media I believe, The oil rich bedouin sheik who still lives part of the year in his tent must be the no1 glamper :tent: no we go off to camp to enjoy been under canvas To get away from bricks and mortar. To-night we removed large items from our tin tent as it going in for service Tuesday £240 + parts :(
but before we parked up we had a drive round the Camp site here in Porlock and between the rain the famillys were out with their frizbys and balls kites flying in the next field children running safely around with big happy smiles on their faces the BBQ were smoking, No clamping or camping under canvas is OK
And I am really starting to miss the thought of spending my future camps in a tin tent in lines of other tin tents all parked the same way full of all the home comforts permanently fitted and serviced

Good night all
Rex.

After reviewing my list of kit taken to my normal camping exploits - I could be defined as a 'glamper' apart from the full-blown decorative kind, which I don't do

Only the other weekend I went off on a reunion weekend for some ex-RAF colleagues, and dragged out my previous 'small' tunnel tent and only the basics for kit.... I still loved the experience and was glad I kept that tent even though it's a bit 'worn' now.... :rofl2:

Camping is what the experience is all about - takes in all sorts and all kinds of kit these days, but we're all brought together in a field somewhere

If by Glamping you mean electric, heaters, hair straighteners and hairdryers then it's deffo glamping for us. 2 teenage girls and a quiet life!! My sister actually told me once that I was a posh camper and boughtme one of those little chandeliers to go on our lightbulb in the tent. It caused much amusement within the family.
There's nothing nicer than a night under canvas

I'm most definitely with you on this one, so long as its practical and comfortable then i think glamping would be the way forward specially at this time of the year just as autumn is setting in, just hunting out good places to go now!
