I'm from Blackpool, not really know for camping, the one site that pops to mind is Marton mere. which is on the outskirts. It's not far from stanley park and the zoo but is a bus ride to the sea / attractions / town center.

It's more of a static site but i think they do have pitches.

We go to one quite regularly in the village of St Micheals on Wyre ,on the Blackpool road , called Wyreside Farm Park .

Quite a small place only 10 pitches , all with EHU , easy to get to and very peaceful .

About a 10/15 min drive into Blackpool from there so near enough but also far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle of Blackpool and retreat to some peace and quiet .

Nothing else at the site just a field and toilet/shower block , andanother field just of the touring field that the kids can play in . but we like that kind of simplicity .

We asked last time we were there , if we were ok thowing a fire log on our folding barbeque and Penny the owner (a very nice lady )was fine with that as long nothing was scortching the grass , which is fair enough .

Hi
Many thanks for the info.
We have booked at Highbank farm but will have a look at Wyreside Farm Park while we are up there as it looks like a nice quiet park.
Cheers for the info :D

I haven't been to Blackpool for quite sometime. To be specific Sarah was pregnant with our eldest, so we are talking 12years ago  . I have got the impression, mainly from groups of lads I know going for weekends that the town center is now full of all day drinkers and often not the place to be with children. I would love to take my kids to the attractions/lights in Blackpool, but this is putting me off slightly.

I'm hoping I have this image completely wrong, "Outdoorenthusiasts" maybe you could correct me here. I do not wish to disrespect Blackpool, I have many fond memories there and have always enjoyed it.

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

when are you going?
We are looking for somewhere near for a weekend in June for youngests 12th birthday (28th June).
Had a look at the site and it's about £15 a night for us with hook up and being Blackpool ............. we could do the Zoo and park instead of PB (though she has asked to go to PB - argh!!)

Had a look at Wryside. Looks a nice place but from what I've read (can't find prices on the website) it seems it's £8 per adult a night and £2 for children per night that would make it £20 a night for us.
I'm a bit of a scrooge when it comes to sites fees
