stereotyping people is never a good way to build relationships.
a friendly foum , Hmmmm

Rather odd reply???? :? Would you care to enlighten us all further please....

Its fairly clear isn't it.

don't stereotype people, that way tarquin and jemimas parents might not be as sniffy as you think.

I haven't ever had a problem with anybody on a campsite, caravanners , FCs TTs canvas owners, but thats because I don't have a preconcevied attitude of what certain peolle will be like.

if a potential member had googled campsite prices this thread would have been in top 4 or 4 results. the nutgiobne comments while seen by regulars might be put down to "banter" a new user could well be put off .

although as Nutgone is a spark I can understand the brashness ( yes for my sins I too am an electrician )

apart from that , love the forum , its growing and i get a friendlier vibe here than i did at UKCS reading some of the posts there.

What happened at the other place anyway ? might have to start a thread to ask.
Quechua 6.2XL , and now an OUTWELL Vermont XLP . not as bitey in real life as i seem online.

Please don't start another thread on the 'other' site, there's a huge thread already on here, don't let them take over

That was said in jest and not meant to offend anyone. :)
Happiness is packing your tent away dry & getting it back in the bag :-)

that explains a lot, it makes sense now I know your one of us (that makes three sparkys here) :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

The trouble with writing is there is no expression and your quite right in that it can be misread. only today I got a ear full of my OH because she completely misunderstood a text I sent her. A complement was taken as an insult

Nope, never took it out of the box. But, the salesperson said this tent was super easy to set up; even in windy conditions...

Why should being a sparky mean I'm brash???

Bit stereotypical & presumptuous, isn't it?

Being serious though (I was joking above), I think most people who might find my comments offensive (poor little Tarquin & Gemima's parents) won't be here long anyway.

Why?

Well, you'll see all their camping stuff on ebay in a few weeks time!!! :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

(I'm actually quite well spoken, myself. Probably another reason I gave up working on building sites. I also couldn't stand to drink instant coffee all day! & used to get the mickey taken for bringing ground coffee & a cafetiere mug)

Anyhow, as for this site & the "other place" thing, here we are definitely given more free reign & artistic license with our posts, I've yet to see anything edited or deleted. As for threads on the subject? We have a long one & several short ones, lurking in the welcome section. My welcome thread is entitled "Nutgone moves over".

The longer thread can be found here;
http://www.thecampingforum.co.uk/forum/introduce-yourself/topic2606.html
4 Canvas tents (various sizes)
3 Plastic tents (various sizes)
& 1 Tin tent (yes, I'm a turn-coat, but it has a canvas awning)
